WAREHOUSE CLOSURE

 

If you are a regular customer of California Paper Goods then this statement is going to be very important to read!

On November 18th 2010 we closed the northern California warehouse. This is the warehouse where we stocked all our products, and where we shipped from.

 

No doubt you have a few questions including 1. Why?, 2. What exactly does this closure mean? and 3. Are you going out of business?

1. The reason why is not the obvious answer... this is not happening because of the economy. It is actually due to something even further beyond our control... age. The owner is going to be 74 soon and is ready to retire and set up his own little crafting workshop. He has been running this company from a very young age and has been patiently waiting for his time to create & play.

2. What exactly does this closure mean? It means that we will no longer be shipping orders from northern California. It also means that we are not carrying all the items that we used to carry and that items are now available at different websites www.CPGbulksales.com

3. No we are not going out of business but we are drastically changing the way we do business. The nice thing about being in business for almost 70 years is that you develop excellent business relationships with other companies. What we have done is taken a look at what our customers order the most, and we have set up websites for each of those items. We then contacted companies that were interested in shipping for us. The new sites are already up and are fully operational. Many of the new sites still offer same day shipping but not all. However, all the warehouses have promised to put your orders out as a top priority and so far they have exceeded expectations on that point. The person who has been managing CApaper.com for the past 10 years, KD Good, will be taking over the daily operation of the company and eventually, when the time is right, will take over ownership of the company. The company will be staying in the family. All contact information will stay the same but there will be a name change to CPG Bulk Sales on January 1st 2011. The main reason for the name change is that if we keep using the name California Paper Goods, people will assume that all orders ship from CA and that is no longer true.

 

We know that change can be upsetting, and we know that most of our smaller customers will be affected. Many of you have enjoyed ordering in small quantities and being able to get lots of different items all in one place. Unfortunately, with this change we lose the ability to combine orders since each type of item is shipping from a different warehouse. For those customers who we are no longer able to serve, we want to say a huge Thank You for your support over the years! Your patronage has meant a lot to us and we have enjoyed seeing and hearing how you have been using all the papers and supplies.

For customers who will be continuing on with us, we want to say Thank You for your continued patronage! If you have any questions and concerns we hope that you will feel free to contact us. Special Order Paper customers please contact us so we can discuss how you will be placing your future orders. If you have any questions about the changes please let us know.
