AUCTION PAYMENT FORM

THIS AUCTION IS OPEN FRIDAY-SUNDAY ONLY!

DO NOT PLACE BIDS ON DOWN DAYS!

INTRODUCTION

We are pleased to open our on-line auction where you can find many great deals on discontinued papers, odd-lots and slightly damaged paper goods. We have based this auction after our famous "3 hour only Warehouse Sales" that we used to hold a few times a year in Los Angeles. This last year we were unable to use the warehouse we had been using down there so we discontinued the sales. Since that time we have had numerous requests from our customers to start the sales again. That is why the idea of an auction came to be.

We have just installed a more sophisticated program and all of you who have attended before will need to re-register- sorry! The registration process is fast and easy. You will be sent a password via e-mail. I recommend you change it to something that is easy to remember. Changing your password is again very simple and will take you less than 2 minutes to do.

The new program offers bidding by proxy so you wont have to be glued to the computer as much as before. For those of you who are new to on-line auctions don't be concerned with all the strange terms- our program is simple to use and if you run into any trouble just e-mail the auctioneer.

THE WAY IT WORKS

This auction has been kept very simple, with easy registration and bidding procedures. This auction works a little differently than most on-line auctions in that it is not open for bidding Monday-Thursday. On those days you can look around the auction at the items that will be up for auction Friday-Sunday you just can't bid on anything. The Auctioneer usually starts to post on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

On the "down days" you can take the time to pre-register, change your registration information, look at closed auctions to determine your future bids and E-Mail us to get any questions about the papers or shipping answered before the auction starts. It will have the appearance of an open auction only no bids placed on the "down days" will be recognized by us and will be canceled before the start of the auction on Friday. When exactly does the bidding start? It starts exactly at 1 a.m. Friday morning. When does it end? It ends at 5:00 Sunday (Pacific Standard Time). When will the paper ship? The paper will ship within 24 to 48 hours after payment is made. For details on payment go to The Auctioneer's Corner page. The link to that page is above.

E-MAIL NOTIFICATIONS

This auction is automatic in just about every way. We have the ability to post items and remove items and a few other admin features but that's about it. As part of this auction there is a built in E-Mail notification system. You will be receiving a lot of E-Mail during the auction if you are actively bidding. Let me explain further- Once you register to bid you will be E-mailed with a password which you should note somewhere as you will need it to move around the auction and to bid. You will also receive E-Mail if you have been out-bid. For example if you bid on an item and someone else out-bids you an E-mail will be sent to you letting you know this and offering a link back to the item in case you want to increase your bid. This will happen every time and on every item! The third E-Mail that you may receive is a notification that you have the high bid and that you should contact us on payment and shipping arrangements.

THE AUCTIONEER'S CORNER

This page was put up so that you can get up to the minute information about the auction and the products on the block. The page is changed all the time- sometimes two or three times a day when the auction is up and running. There is detailed information on how the auction works, how to pay, free shipping games and a whole lot more. If you plan to attend the auction that page should be your first step!

HOW TO PAY FOR YOUR ITEMS

Once you have made a winning bid you should go to The Auctioneer's Corner page for step by step instructions. At the top to that page there is a link with detailed instructions. Once payment is made your items will ship-usually within 24 to 48 hours!

WHAT WE ARE SELLING

What we are selling on the auction block fall into two categories, for the most part-

1) Paper that was discontinued by the paper mill. When this happens we have to pull it out of our catalog and any remaining paper goes onto the back shelves with no way to get rid of it. This paper is usually still in mint condition. The only thing usually wrong with this paper is that dust can settle on the side of the paper if it is not boxed properly. We consider this paper to be 98% to 100% usable for whatever project you have in mind.

2) In this category we have paper that was shipped to us and was damaged in transit. When this happens you will generally get paper that has a dinged corner or in the case of the colored glossy papers slight scratches (caused by the paper sliding against itself in the box). When this occurs it makes it impossible for us to sell it as full sheets and sometimes it is not worth it for us to salvage greeting cards and post cards from the remaining portion of paper that is OK. In this case the paper gets put aside and forgotten. Sometimes it is boxed or bagged and sometimes not. If it is not there is sometimes dust that gathers on the top sheet and a little on the sides. However, for the most part this paper is still in great shape (many of you have seen this paper in the scrap bags we sell).

RATING 1 TO 10

In our auction we rate our paper on a 1 to 10 scale to help you judge what the paper is worth. Here are some details on the rating system-

1= This paper is in bad shape and is dusty, bent, dinged, ripped, torn and should probably be used to grind up to make paper (we don't have much of this)

2=This paper is in bad shape and is dusty, bent and dinged and should probably be used in small pieces in collages or similar usage (we don't have much of this)

3=This paper is in bad shape and is dusty, crunched and discolored. It should be used in small pieces or as scrap paper (we do not have much of this)

4=This paper is probably discolored, dusty and the corners are dinged. It should be used in smaller pieces (we do not have much of this)

5=This paper may be a bit dusty and there may be a bend to the paper. Expect some sort of ripple to the paper which may/or may not relax when it is used. It should be used in small pieces if it does not relax (we do not have much of this)

6=This paper is dusty or has dirty hand prints on a few of the sheets, it may also be discolored a bit. There may be a ripple to the paper that will probably relax out of the paper when it is used (we have some of this)

7=This paper is actually in pretty OK shape. It probably has dinged corners and a few sheets may have dirty hand prints and there may be dust on some sheets. Overall you will get good usage out of this paper (we have some of this)

8=This paper is in darn good shape. It probably has one corner that is dinged and there may be a few dirty fingerprints here and there. Overall you will get a lot of usage out of this paper and will most likely be pleased with the product (we have a lot of this)

9=This paper is almost sellable at full price except that one of the corners may be dinged or the grain is running in the wrong direction. you may also come across a sheet or two with a dirty fingerprint. Overall this paper is a great buy as you are getting almost a perfect product as a very reduced rate. A Great Deal! (we have a lot of this)

10=This product is sellable at full rate only we no longer have the ability to market it through our normal catalog. It is a great buy, jump on it! (we have a lot of this)

IMPORTANT NOTES

First- Many of the papers in this auction are papers that are normally carried in our on-line catalog (only they may be damaged in some way). Please spend the time before bidding to look at the scanned paper swatches of our on-line catalog as the colors are truer than the photos that were taken for the auction. If you have copies (even old ones) of our catalogs then you are in great shape as you can see the actual swatches of some of the papers you may be bidding on.

Second- Don't get caught up in the bidding process and wind up paying more than the paper is worth. In some cases if you have not looked to see what the paper sells for in the on-line catalog you may end up paying more for the damaged stuff than you would for the perfect product. This would be silly so please take the time to do a little research (to get the prices you may have to place a fake order with our on-line shopping cart and cancel the order in the end- E Mail us if you need help with this).

Third- Look to see how many pounds of the paper you are interested in are available. If there is 20 pounds of the paper then don't necessarily bid real high as the chances of another pound of the paper being put up that week or the next is very good. If you want to know if and when the paper will be listed again you can E-Mail the auctioneer.

Fourth- The pictures of the products are only so good in showing the true beauty and color of these papers. We do not make any guarantee that the paper you will receive will match the on-line photo. We have done our best to adjust the color to match but it still falls short in many cases. If you have questions on this point please E-Mail us.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

If you have questions about the papers or how the auction works it is best to send us an E-Mail. The general office staff here knows very little about the auction and the products being sold so calling us is not a great idea. However, if you send an E-Mail to us the auctioneer who knows all about the products will get back to you ASAP. If you have a question during the auction the auctioneer can rapidly answer your questions via E Mail.

SHIPPING INFORMATION

Shipping paper can be expensive as it is generally very heavy. The idea with this auction is to get the paper to you with as little cost for shipping as possible. After all we want you to get a good deal! The best way to accomplish this is to buy more than one pound of paper at the auction. I know this sounds like a sales pitch but it really isn't. The truth is that you will save a ton of money on shipping if you buy many pounds of paper. If you look at the charts below you will see what I mean. Before you do that though I want you to seriously consider getting a group together, another friend or a club and gang your purchases up to be shipped to one address. The more weight the better the price on shipping. If you intend to do this you need to make it clear in your E-Mail to us at the time of payment and assign one contact person for us to work with.

SHIPPING RATES

Shipping can be complicated so if you need help send us an E-Mail and we can help you.

Shipping outside the USA? Send us an E-Mail and we will give you an estimate.

US MAIL
(Inside the United States)

One pound of paper will cost $4.00 plus $1.00 box charge (US Mail)

Two pounds of paper will cost $5.20 plus $1.00 box charge (US Mail)

Three pounds of paper will most likely go UPS (except to Hawaii- E Mail us for an estimate)

As you can see the shipping charges for 1 and 2 pounds is going to be about the amount you would spend for the paper or in some cases even more. That is why we recommend buying more than 1 or 2 pounds. See details below-

For example if you are located in Zone (2) as we are and you are buying 9 pounds of paper from the auction then you would look up the cost of shipping for 10 pounds (due to the weight of the box and shipping materials). Using the above chart you would pay $5.29 plus $1.00 for the box charge. The total shipping charge would be $6.29. This is only a little more than the cost for shipping 1 lb!

FINAL NOTE

Auctions can be great fun and getting a great deal on paper can double the fun. We hope that you will take full advantage of what we have to offer and that you will enjoy your purchases. Paper is wonderful stuff and the more variety you have the more creative you can be. Happy Bidding!
